Yoga Retreats

Yoga retreats are movement-based programs with key themes from the yogic tradition threaded throughout.  Themes, postural selections, breathwork and vocabulary are based upon the hosting studio's expressed goals and the nature of the studio's client base. 

Yoga retreats are divided into two-hour increments, so that the schedule may tailored to meet your studio's needs.  In creating
a schedule for retreat, it is important to consider your clientele, the nature of the selected theme and desired outcome.

Private Sessions

Private sessions in hatha yoga are available.  General guidelines for the development of a safe home practice are emphasized.  A student may sample adjustments from among the various schools of hatha yoga at his or her own pace to determine what is best for the body at a given time.  Breathwork and time for meditation may also be included at a client's request.

Private consultations in Certified Energetic Work facilitate a client's ability to access their own essence.  Specific breathing patterns may be given during the course of a consultation.  Comfortable clothing is a plus. Julian Lynn, MFA, CEP, ERYT, has been practicing hatha yoga for twenty years.  She began her formal studies in 1994, within the raja yoga tradition, attending a weekend intensive with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait of the Himalayan Institute.  Educated academically in the liberal and fine arts, she earned her graduate degree in from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 

After completing her graduate work, Ms. Lynn continued her yoga studies in the upper Midwest with instructors certified by the Kripalu, Iyengar and Anusara schools of hatha yoga.  After ten years of practice, she certified to teach Hatha Vinyasa Yoga in 2004 through Therapeutic Approaches Yoga Studio of Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Dorje Denma Ling Buddhist Retreat Center in Canada.

From 2005-2010, Julian Lynn spent five years in the American Southwest working as a community-based and college-level yoga and meditation instructor and associate faculty member.



It was in this setting that Julian developed her respect for the potential in each student who is committed to a dedicated, personal practice.  In working with large groups of dedicated practitioners, she came to appreciate the strength and ability of disciplined practice, coupled with appropriate thematic material, to transform an entire room of disparate minds into a space of restoration and renewal.

Julian Lynn is a movement-based instructor, whose private classes and retreats focus on listening to the wisdom of the body, learning to read the cadence of the breath and holding space for one's own awareness.  She continues to read, study and explore, having enjoyed continued studies with Jordan Kirk, Erich Schiffmann and Amy Weintraub.
